Daniel Boone, Trail blazer | 1956
Daniel Boone (Bruce Bennett) battles Shawnee warriors as he leads a band of settlers into Kentucky in this frontier potboiler from Albert C. Gannaway Productions. Made at the height of Hollywood's fascination with pioneer days, the film also stars Lon Chaney Jr. as Chief Blackfish, and country singer Faron Young as a handsome young suitor for Boone's daughter. There's plenty of action and danger here as the Shawnee are convinced that Boone is trying to steal their land. But Boone is ready, not even fearing death by tomahawk. "It isn't how you die," Boone says. "It's what you live for."
